Migrate from Shopify

Step-by-step instructions for importing your Shopify store.

Overview

Katura's Shopify connector makes it easy to import your entire Shopify store β€” products, customers, orders, collections, and images β€” with just a few clicks.

Tip

The Shopify import typically takes 5–15 minutes depending on the size of your catalog. You can continue setting up other parts of your store while the import runs.

Before you start

  • You need admin access to your Shopify store
  • Keep your Shopify store running until your Katura store is live and verified
  • If you have a custom domain, don't transfer it until after you've verified the import

Step-by-step import

  1. In your Katura admin, go to Settings β†’ Import Data
  2. Select Shopify as the source platform
  3. Enter your Shopify store URL (e.g., mystore.myshopify.com)
  4. Click Connect β€” you'll be redirected to Shopify to authorize access
  5. Approve the permissions and return to Katura
  6. Select which data types you want to import
  7. Click Start Import
  8. Monitor progress on the import dashboard

Warning

Import products first, then customers, then orders. If you import everything at once, Katura handles the ordering automatically.

After the import

Follow the post-import verification guide to check that everything came through correctly. Common things to verify:

  • Product prices and inventory levels
  • Product images are loading correctly
  • Customer email addresses are correct
  • Collections contain the right products
  • Historical order totals match

Shopify apps vs. Katura built-in features

Many popular Shopify apps are replaced by Katura's built-in features:
