Fulfilling orders

Pick, pack, and ship orders.

Overview

Once an order is placed and paid, it's time to fulfill it β€” pick and pack the items, generate a shipping label, and ship the order to the customer.

Fulfillment workflow

  1. Order received β€” status is Pending or Paid
  2. Process order β€” update status to Processing, pick items
  3. For custom orders β€” update to In Production while item is being made
  4. Pack and label β€” generate shipping label via ShipStation
  5. Ship β€” update to Shipped, tracking number is added
  6. Delivered β€” mark as Delivered when confirmed

Bulk fulfillment

For high-volume stores, use ShipStation's batch label generation to process multiple orders at once.

Tip

For engagement rings and high-value items, consider using insured shipping with signature confirmation. This protects both you and the customer.

Customer notifications

Customers are automatically notified via email when:

  • Their order is confirmed
  • Their order has shipped (with tracking link)
  • Their order is delivered
